AOT–IIMCIP Technology & Innovation Build Club

Fostering Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship in Engineering

Overview

The AOT–IIMCIP Technology & Innovation Build Club is a collaborative initiative between Academy of Technology (AOT) and IIMCIP–Technology and Innovation Council (IIMCIP-TIC), established under the aegis of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. This partnership aims to nurture product-building skills, encourage entrepreneurial thinking, and create a vibrant ecosystem for innovation on campus.

Through the Build Club, students gain hands-on exposure to real-world problem-solving, product prototyping, and startup incubation pathways, while faculty members contribute guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.

  • Product Development & Prototyping – From concept to working model.
  • Entrepreneurship & Startup Culture – Encouraging business-oriented thinking.
  • Collaboration & Peer Learning – Building multidisciplinary teams.
  • Technology Skill Development – Exposure to cutting-edge tools and methods.
  • Competitions & Hackathons – Fostering a culture of innovation.

Facilities

The Build Club is equipped with dedicated infrastructure and tools to support a variety of innovation projects:

  • Dedicated innovation space with furniture, storage, and display boards.
  • Continuous power supply with backup and high-speed internet.
  • Security and CCTV coverage.
  • Projector and whiteboard for presentations and workshops.
  • Tools and equipment including:
    • Soldering Stations: To solder components on dot board (E.x – DC-dc boost converter)
    • Multimeters: To measure electrical parameters such as voltage, current, and resistance in circuits
    • Ammeters: Used for precise measurement of current in Dc-dc boost converter
    • Regulated power supplies: To provides a constant, stable voltage or current to electronic circuits, ensuring reliable and safe operation of components
    • Oscilloscopes: To find pwm signals from esp 32 peripherals
    • Glue guns: To mount components
  • Starter project kits provided by IIMCIP-TIC, with provisions for additional resources.
