At Academy of Technology (AOT), the Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) is a dedicated institutional body committed to building a safe, inclusive, and gender-sensitive campus. The Cell fosters an environment where every woman, whether it is student, faculty, or staff, can thrive academically, professionally, and personally.

The Cell proactively supports the development of leadership qualities, self-reliance, and equal opportunities for women, while reinforcing the values of equity, dignity, and mutual respect.

Objectives of the Cell

To promote gender equality and eliminate gender bias or discrimination
To support the personal and professional development of women on campus
To conduct awareness programs on women’s rights, legal provisions, and safety
To encourage leadership and self-expression among female students

Key Functions

Organize awareness campaigns and competitions on gender issues
Celebrate Women’s Day and observe significant events to honour achievements of women
Facilitate free self-defense training in collaboration with external trainers
Partner with the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and Equal Opportunities Facilitation Cell (EOFC) to address intersectional concerns
Promote student leadership by encouraging female students to plan and lead different activities
