Promoting Social Inclusion and Equity

The SC/ST Cell at Academy of Technology has been constituted in accordance with the guidelines laid down by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and University Grants Commission (UGC). The Cell is committed to ensuring the effective implementation of policies and programs for the welfare of students, faculty, and staff belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories.

It acts as a central support system to safeguard the rights and dignity of SC/ST members within the campus and to promote an inclusive and respectful academic environment.

Objectives

To provide academic and personal support to SC/ST students as needed
To monitor and address grievances or instances of discrimination faced by SC/ST students, faculty, or staff
To organize awareness and capacity-building programs on social justice, constitutional rights, and equality
To disseminate information and facilitate access to scholarships and welfare schemes available to SC/ST students

Functions of the Cell

Ensure compliance with UGC/AICTE guidelines on SC/ST welfare
Maintain records and assist students in availing central/state government scholarships
Conduct awareness programs on issues of discrimination and equity
Address grievances confidentially and ensure timely redressal
Maintain documentation as per statutory requirements

Grievance Redressal

The SC/ST Cell serves as a confidential and accessible platform for resolving issues related to caste-based discrimination or violation of rights. Complaints may be submitted in person or through the institutional grievance portal, and are handled with utmost sensitivity and confidentiality.
